Grand launch of RGV RAI’s first look

It’s known that Ram Gopal Varma is making a film on the saga of Muthappa Rai, a don-turned-entrepreneur, in four languages – Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil.  The first look of this Vivek Oberoi-starrer will be launched on a grand scale on May 1 (at 6:00 p.m.) by Rai himself at Bidadi, Bangalore.  May 1 is his birthday.
This Rs. 55 cr will be extensively shot in Mangalore, Banglore, Mumbai, Dubai and London.
“The Hindi version of Rai has been acquired by Raju Chadda of Wave films and Sunil Lulla of Eros International. The Telugu version has been acquired by Dasari Kiran Kumar, who is already producing Vangaveeti and the Tamil version has been acquired by Ganga Raju,” the makers say.  “Many celebrities and political leaders are attending the event at Bidadi where there will be giant cut-outs of the first look along with a gigantic firework display and a laser beam show of Rai’s first look, to be performed by internationally acclaimed technicians,” the makers say.
Muthappa Rai’s journey is laced with adventure and gore.  He was shot in a court premises by a person clad in a lawyer’s dress way back in 1994.  He survived five bullets into his body and after two years of being bed-ridden, he reportedly developed contacts with Dawood Ibrahim and lived in exile.  He is currently based in Bengaluru post his extradition in 2002 and is known as a businessman.
