Actress Chitrangada Singh, who features in "Inkaar", a movie which deals with sexual harassment at the workplace, says she knows where to draw the line when it comes to doing bold scenes.

"As long as I am comfortable with my director and the co-stars, I am open to doing the bold scenes. But I do have my own limits and I know where to say no," Chitrangada told.

"If you are not involved in a scene, your discomfort shows on screen and it makes you look stupid," she added.

As an actor, Chitrangada has opened up to new things - commercial Bollywood movies as well as item numbers.

Chitrangada, who has earlier featured in off-beat films like "Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi" and "Yeh Saali Zindagi", entered the commercial movie zone with "Desi Boyz". She recently also did an item number in the movie "Joker".

"I am more comfortable dancing now than before. Dancing is a lot of fun. I am open to doing item numbers. Let's see if any interesting thing comes up, then I might do it (again)," she said.

Chitrangada started her acting career with Sudhir Mishra's "Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi" and later featured in "Kal: Yesterday and Tomorrow", "Sorry Bhai!", "Basra" and "Yeh Saali Zindagi".

In "Inkaar", she shares the screen space with Arjun Rampal and she guarantees this is Arjun's best work so far.

"Arjun is a very nice human being. He made me feel very comfortable and that energy translates on screen. He is extremely professional. This is Arjun's best work that I have seen," she said.

"Inkaar" is an 'A' certificate movie, but Chitrangada maintains she is choosy with her scripts.

"Yes I am choosy about my scripts. I want to do good roles that suit me. I want to choose the best because I have waited really long to be part of good films. I should be convinced with my role," she said.

She isn't even worried about the competition among Bollywood actresses.

"I don't know about competition, I only choose to do good work that I like," Chitrangada said nonchalantly.

She also says box office numbers don't matter as long as she gets a good film.

"Numbers don't hurt at all. Everybody wants their film to earn as much money, but at the same time, I am greedy to be part of good films. (Of course) I would be happy if my film collects Rs.100 crore," the 36-year-old-said.

Hyderabad, Dec 31: Gade Venkat Reddy, a Seemandhra Congress leader, who participated in the recent all-party meeting in New Delhi on December 28 on Telangana issue as a representative of the Congress from the Seemandhra region asserted that Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde had not said that the Congress was in favour of division of the State. He also said that he would retire from politics if anybody proved that Sushil Kumar Shinde had announced that the Congress was inclined to divide the State.

Speaking to the media at the CLP office here on Monday, Gade said he batted for the United Andhra Pradesh and argued in favor of Samaikyandhra and K R Suresh Reddy argued in favor of separate Telangana State. Gade said there was no truth in the reports published by a section of the media that Sushil Kumar Shinde did not allow him to speak at the meeting.

Faulting K R Suresh Reddy’s statement that Shinde had said that the Congress was in favour of division of the State, Gade said, “I am sorry to say that he twisted the facts”. Reiterating that there was no unanimous opinion in the Congress party on Telangana issue, Gade said he would stick to whatever decision taken by the party high command though he was a staunch integrationist.

Alleging that the TDP had adopted separate Telangana stand only to disturb the Congress politically as it was done in 2009 elections by entering into an alliance with the TRS, he said the TDP and CPI were adopting opportunistic political policy on Telangana issue by changing their stand now and then. He said there was no need to bother about YSRCP, which said nothing at all-party meeting.

The Seemandhra leader said the Congress high command directed the Congress representatives to express their individual views and it was not correct to say that the Congress was for division of the State. He said the Congress was not a sub-regional party to have consensus.

He said the Centre was the final authority to take a decision on Telangana issue and all have to abide by it. He felt that the TDP would face severe repercussions soon for agreeing division of the State. He also quoted former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s statement that division of the State was not correct.

The bandh in Telangana region today has been evoking good response. No RTC buses were seen plying on roads in twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. Workers employed with various private organizations, however, sought other means of transport to reach the offices. Private cabs were, fortunately, plying on roads. Therefore, common public in a way didn't find it that tough to commute to various parts of the city. Even outside Osmania University campus, which is considered to be hot bed of Telangana movement, private cabs were plying and were even halting for alighting and boarding of passengers.

It may be recalled that TRS called for a bandh today across ten districts of Telangana region over all party meeting especially against TDP and YSRC parties over their alleged unclear stance on Telangana issue. Unlike earlier bandhs, this time bandh didn't show any effect on the daily roadside vendors. Daily vendors, who sell bread for their bread and butter, didn't limit to houses today. Their normal activities carried on.

Are bandhs really helpful in sending across the message? The question is rhetorical. Anyway, lets hope that no more bandhs take place in the state.

Movie : Yamudiki Mogudu
Rating: 3/5
Cast : Allari Naresh, Richa Panai, Ramya Krishna, Sayaji Shinde and others
Directed by : E Sattibabu
Produced by : Chanti Addala
Banner : Friendly Movies
Music : Koti
Release Date : 2012-12-27

We are not new to films that are set up with Yama Lokam backdrop. Telugu cinema has been churning out good number of 'Yama movies' in the recent past. It is Allari Naresh's turn to test this formula.

What is it about?

Naresh (Allari Naresh) marries Lord Yama (Sayaji Shinde) daughter Yamaja (Richa Panai) in a stage play and she comes after him saying that he is her real husband. When Naresh too falls for her Yama comes from Yama Loka to take back his daughter. Naresh follows him there as he has special powers.

Performances:

Naresh has done well within his limitations. He is at ease in comedy scenes and did his best in emotional situations. Richa Panai is just a glam doll. Sayaji Shinde didn't suit the role of Yama. Master Bharat as Young Yama is good. Krishna Bhagavan is hilarious and Raghu Babu is loud. Ramya Krishna is decent. Tanikella Bharani is topnotch.

On the Technical Front:

Koti's music is not good. Except for Atho Athamma kooturo remix nothing really works. Dialogues are good with fine one liners. Graphics are okay and the art department has done a neat job. Production values are good for a film with medium range star cast.

Director Sattibabu made sure that there is enough comedy in the film to make the film 'paisa vasool entertainer'. He should have written a better screenplay to make it a better film. As of now it is just an average effort from the director.

Analysis:

First half of the film races ahead with right doses of entertainment. Barring a couple of unwanted comedy scenes, first half is pretty decent with an interesting interval bang. People would expect the second half to be more fun.

However, the film fell short of expectations in the latter half as the director tried to make it a commercial film. Had he stuck to the comedy genre Yamudiki Mogudu might have scored more marks. There is not enough comedy in the second half.

The film drags on and on towards the climax. Joker song is completely unnecessary during the penultimate scene. This is where the film loses steam and ends up as an average fare. Most of Allari Naresh's films did well even with weaker content than this. So this should fare well at the box office too.

Verdict: Mass comedy with a sentimental climax

Hyderabad, Dec 26: Notwithstanding the high expectations that a section of Congress leaders have, the all-party meeting convened by the central government over the Telangana issue Dec 28 is not likely to achieve any breakthrough in finding a solution to the contentious issue.

With just two days to go for the much-awaited meet, three major parties in Andhra Pradesh are yet to name their representatives, indicating their dilemma in taking a clear stand on the issue.

The ruling Congress, the main opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the YSR Congress, which is emerging as a key force, remain divided along regional lines.

With Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde inviting two representatives from each party, all the three are under pressure to send delegates from both Telangana and Seemandhra (Rayalaseema and Andhra regions).

While their leaders from Telangana want statehood, their counterparts from Seemandhra are opposed to Andhra Pradesh's division.

Five other parties invited to the meet which have taken a clear stand on the issue have announced their representatives.

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Communist Party of India (CPI) want a Telangana state. The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) and the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) are opposed to the state's bifurcation.

Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, in-charge of party affairs in the state, has dampened the spirits of Telangana leaders by stating that since Shinde recently took over as the home minister, he convened the meeting to know the views of the parties afresh.

Political observers say if eliciting the opinion of the parties is the purpose of the meeting, it will not achieve any breakthrough.

Since the divergent views in the major parties are known and with no hopes of unanimity, the meeting may end in a failure like the two previous ones held in 2010 and 2011.

Congress leaders from Telangana, including some MPs, had asked Shinde to invite only one representative from each party.

The Congress is finding itself in a tight spot over the issue as there is pressure both from within and outside to take a clear stand.

The TDP and the YSR Congress are in fact waiting for the ruling party to declare its stand.

The Congress is reluctant. "We will take a stand after hearing other parties," said state Congress chief Botsa Satyanarayana.

A section of Congress leaders are pessimistic about the outcome of the all-party meeting.

They believe the central government is not inclined to carve out Telangana state as this could trigger demands for smaller states in other parts of the country.

The Congress leadership is keen to drag the issue till the 2014 Lok Sabha election. Some of its leaders from Telangana, however, have warned that the party may have to pay a heavy price in the region.

With the TRS and pro-Telangana groups threatening to crush parties which don't support the Telangana demand, both the Congress and TDP face desertions in the region, made up of 10 districts including Hyderabad.

The upcoming meeting appears to be aimed at pacifying a section of its MPs from Telangana who set Dec 9 as the deadline for an announcement on taking forward the Telangana movement.

The Srikrishna committee report, submitted in December 2010, is also gathering dust. The panel had mooted six possible solutions to the issue.

Karimnagar, Dec 26: TDP Chief N. Chandrababu Naidu here on Wednesday reiterated that he was not against creation of separate Telangana State. He also made it clear that he would not speak against the Telangana issue even in future.

Speaking to the media as part of his ‘Vastunna Meekosam’ padayatra here on Wednesday, Chandrababu Naidu said the TDP had given a letter to the Centre in 2008 in favor of Telangana. He said that creation of separate Telangana State was neither in his hands nor has power to give Telangana.

Naidu has alleged that TRS Chief K Chandrasekhara Rao, his son K Tarakarama Rao, daughter K Kavita and nephew T Harish Rao want only political employment but not welfare of the people. He said the Congress was hatching a political conspiracy to malign the TDP without expressing its opinion on Telangana issue. He demanded that the Congress express its opinion on Telangana issue first as it was in power in the State and at the Centre.

Reminding that Hyderabad City was developed tremendously during the TDP regime with huge investments pouring in, Chandrababu Naidu lamented that the youth were not getting jobs though they were intelligent. He has alleged that late chief minister YSR had destroyed the system by appointing his followers in the APPSC.

The TDP chief said the common devotees were facing untold troubles at Tirumala due to VIP darshans. He assured the poor and handicrafts that he would help them by allotting Rs 10,000 crores for their welfare. He also said that the TDP would allot 100 Assembly seats to the BCs and 50 percent in the local body elections.

Meanwhile, the TDP Chief held a meeting with Seemandhra TDP leaders today and discussed with them about the strategy to be adopted at the all-party meet to be held in New Delhi on December 28 on Telangana issue.

Speaking to the media later, Seemandhra senior leader Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said the party would express single opinion on Telangana issue at the all-party meet.

Hyderabad, Dec 25: With just three days left for the crucial all-party meeting convened by Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on Friday in a bid to resolve the contentious separate Telangana State issue, the political parties invited for discussion are busy finalizing the names of those who would represent them and also about their party’s point of view.

The BJP, which is vehemently supporting the creation of a Telangana State, would be represented at the meeting by State party president G. Kishan Reddy and senior leader Kambampati Haribabu. The CPM, which is against bifurcation of the State, has decided to depute the party’s State secretary B. V. Raghavulu and Floor leader in the Assembly Julakanti Ranga Reddy.

The Telugu Desam is expected to finalize its representatives after the politburo meeting on December 27. However, the TDP president Chandrababu Naidu, who is now in Karimnagar district as part of his “Vasthunna Meekosam” walkathon, held a meeting today with the party’s MLAs from the Telangana to apprise himself of their views and the stance to be adopted though it is well known that they are staunch separatists.

The TDP chief has also convened a meeting of the party legislators from Seemandhra region on Wednesday and continue his exercise in this regard. After having heard the views and opinions of the leaders from both the regions, a final decision about the single point view to be expressed at the all-party meeting would be decided at the politburo meeting on Thursday.

It is reliably learnt that former TDP minister Kadiam Srihari has been almost finalized as one of the representatives of the party. Another name that was also cleared was that of senior leader Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, a known integrationist. Since the party seemed to be favorably inclined for a separate Telangana State, he seemed to have decided not to take part in the all-party meeting. It is also learnt that many of the party legislators from both the regions seemed to be in favour of  Chandrababu Naidu himself representing TDP at the Delhi meeting.

As for as the ruling Congress is concerned, the party is vertically divided on the issue. While the party MPs, MLAs and MPs from the Telangana have been relentlessly espousing the cause for a Telangana State, those from the Seemandhra region are stoutly opposed to bifurcation of the State and stressing the need for status quo. Since the party leadership, both at the State and Central levels, seem to have been caught between the devil and deep sea like situation, the APCCpresident Botcha Satyanarayana himself has asserted that only after all the parties make their stance clear, the Congress would then spell out its stand.

The YSR Congress Party has been doing a balancing act in this affair so far. Without making a firm commitment on the separate statehood, the party has been cleverly asserting that it was in sync with the sentiments of the people of the region and that if the Union government decides to bifurcate the State it would not oppose it. However, according to reliable sources, the party would be represented at the all-party meeting by M.V. Mysoora Reddy and Konathala Ramakrishna.

The TRS, which has been spearheading the agitation for a separate State for the past 11 years is likely to be represented by party chief K. Chandrasekhara Rao. Though it was earlier decided that TJAC Chairman Prof. Kodandaram would also represent on behalf of TRS, there seems to have been some opposition to it and hence he may not attend the meet. However, a clear-cut picture on who would represent the TRS would be known in a day or two.

The MIM party’s Lok Sabha member from Hyderabad Asaduddin Owaisi would attend the meeting on behalf of the party. It might be mentioned here that the MIM has been insisting that if a Telangana State was inevitable, then Hyderabad should be made a Union Territory. Another option made by the party was for creating a Rayala Telangana with Hyderabad as its capital. Thus, the status of Hyderabad is bound to become a contentious issue in resolving the Telangana affair.

It might be mentioned here that the Ministry of Home Affairs had made it clear that each of the eight political parties invited for the December 28 meeting could send two representatives. Though the need for expressing only one view at the meeting was being emphasized by all the political parties, the possibility of a unanimity on the issue might encounter some rough weather. Thus the much expected solution to the Telangana issue might turn out to be only a mirage!

New Delhi, Dec 25: Congress president Sonia Gandhi has reportedly expressed anger at the remarks of the PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana on the Delhi gang rape.

According to sources, she has asked her adviser Ahmed Patel to obtain an explanation from Botsa on the remarks. It is learnt that Botsa has given a letter explaining his comments and his later statement condemning media reports to the AICC general secretary and state party in-charge Ghulam Nabi Azad.

It was reported that Botsa has faulted the girl for moving about at midnight. He has reportedly said that we cannot move about during midnight simply because we got freedom at midnight. He is reported to have described the rape as a minor incident and praised Sonia Gandhi for talking to student leaders though it was a small incident.

Stunned by the anger of women organizations and opposition parties, Botsa alleged that he was misquoted. He said he only said that the government should provide security for women to move about freely even at midnight. He has also apologized.

Hyderabad, Dec 25: Cyberabad police have arrested a youth from Nepal for raping a five-year-old girl, the daughter of his neighbour and fellow Nepali, at Madhapur, the information technology district.

Both the accused and the victim are from Nepal and working here. Dhanu Shree, a cook in a restaurant, sexually assaulted the daughter of his neighbour Padam Bahadur, who was working as a security guard at Raheja IT Park.

Cine observers are saying that tinsel towns love to see gorgeous beauties pairing with handsome guys, which otherwise they will be strapped of opportunities.

But Taapsee's fans are not accepting this as they say that it is the individual talent of an actress that will fetch them but not hero's handsomeness. 'We have seen many heroines who sizzled with dark heroes like Rajnikanth and Vishal, before becoming top starlets', said a fan.

The chemistry of the lead pair of Dhamarukam, was well appreciated by the film goers. The duo in the lead Nagarjuna and Anushka Shetty always set the screens on fire when ever spotted together. Off late the grapevine is abuzz with many rumours about their onscreen sizzle. For that matter Nag looks intimate onscreen with every starlet he acts with. However this particular one had been the talk of filmnagar. Adding fuel to fire, Jeyjamma expressed her interest to act with Nag once more. She said working with the Manamadhudu of Tollywood is a learning experience and she yearned for more such ventures. As usual out theory of no smoke with out fire need be mentioned out here. Nevertheless theissue needs not much credence as Nag and Anushka are both professionals. Such rumours shall never take a toll on them and will not affect their friendship either.

Looks like, the makers are keen that this kind of controversy helps the film and does high business

Money plays a significant role in each one's life and actors are no different. Ask Tamanna, to know how an extra few bucks could show it's effect on decision making.Tamanna wasn't seen in any of the Tamil films in the recent past and the only project she signed after a gap of two years was that of Ajith's film to be directed by Shiva (Souryam, Daruvu fame). The makers seems to have done a lot of ground work to lure the actress back to Kollywood. A whopping amount of Rs 1.5 crore which is much higher than the pay package she normally charges was offered to Tammu and the beauty signed the film immediately. With this new assignment, Tammu bagged the title of highest paid actress down South. However, the sources close to the actress defend her by saying she has been paid what she deserves.Tamanna got mixed results in Tollywood with films like 100 Percent Love & Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu turning into profit grossers, and much-hyped flicks Badrinath, Oosaravelli, Endukante Premanta and Rebel bombing at the Box Office. Let's see how her comeback films in Bollywood (Himmatwala) and Kollywood (Ajith's film) will end!

New Delhi, Dec 21:The rage spread, rapidly and steadily, through India's national capital Friday as students, activists and just concerned citizens gathered at various places in the city to protest the torture and gang-rape of a young woman, now battling to stay alive in a Delhi hospital.

As the protests literally reached President Pranab Mukherjee's doorstep, with angry demonstrators going right up till the gates of Rashtrapati Bhavan and one even managing to enter the complex, Delhi Police finally nabbed the two men who were at large.

As the evening set in, hundreds reached 10 Janpath, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi's offficial residence, and held candle march and noisy protests. Police erected barricades and stopped anyone from entering her heavily fortified residence.

The parliamentary standing committee on home affairs, on its part, summoned union Home Secretary R.K. Singh and Delhi Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar Dec 27 to discuss atrocities against women and the law and order situation in the national capital.

R.K. Singh and Neeraj Kumar later held a press conference and said they will be seeking "maximum punishment" for the accused persons. They said they will seek fast-track and day-to-day trial in the case that has shocked the nation.

But the Delhi High Court said it is not "convinced" with the status report filed by the Delhi Police which did not mention the details of police officials patrolling the area where the woman was gang-raped and tortured in a moving bus.

Faced with the growing outrage, with protests not just in New Delhi but also elsewhere in the country, Delhi Police arrested two more accused, including one who has claimed that he is a juvenile. The sixth man identified as Akshay Thakur has been arrested from Aurangabad in Bihar.

In scenes unprecedented in the city, multiple protests broke out - at India Gate, Rajpath, Rashtrapati Bhavan, Jantar Mantar and 10 Janpath in the heart of Lutyens Delhi as well as outside Safdarjung Hospital, where the 23-year-old victim of the savage gang-rape fought a valiant battle against her injuries but continued to stay critical.

Rarely, if ever, have so many people taken to the streets in so many different places for a single cause. It was an unstoppable momentum.

Demanding justice and fast track courts, many people have rallied in protest in the capital in the five days since the incident Sunday night, when the physiotherapist intern was brutally assaulted and her male friend beaten in a moving bus. Both were stripped and dumped by the roadside near the domestic airport after the nearly 40-minute ordeal.

The residence of Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit and the police headquarters have all witnessed the spontaneous outpouring of anger.

"About 250 protestors thronged the high-security zone of Rastrapati Bhavan. We had to divert them back to India Gate," a senior police official told IANS after forces tried in vain to control the surging demonstrators.

Swati, a student at the YWCA, managed to slip past the gates of Rashtrapati Bhavan, before she was pushed back.

"They do nothing to protect us, and when we want justice, they say we need permission to enter the president's house. Such a heinous crime has occurred, and they expect us to seek permission to protest," Swati said.

As people hit the streets of Delhi to vent their grief and anger, the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in central Delhi offered the victim free intestinal transplant.

Doctors treating the woman said their focus was on providing her the best treatment as her life was at grave risk. She underwent surgery to remove a gangrenous section of intestine, and there was risk of infection.

"These are early signs of sepsis," B.D. Athani, medical superintendent of Safdarjung Hospital, told reporters here. Sepsis is a potentially deadly medical condition characterised by a whole-body inflammatory state caused by severe infection.

"The next three to four days are very crucial," he added.

The woman, who had been on a ventilator since Sunday night, is now able to breathe "comfortably" without it for several hours.

The young woman and her uncertain future were focal points for the entire nation, even for a group of Muslim clerics in Mumbai who said rape could only be stemmed through a change in the present "capitalistic, patriarchal" social system.

Demanding justice for the girl, the clerics said in a statement: "The Delhi gang-rape is a horrifying and spine chilling incident."

Starring Salman Khan, Salman Khan, Salman Khan, Salman Khan; Directed by Arbaaz Khan

For those who thought Chulbul Pandey in Abinav Kashyap's "Dabangg" was wacky and fun only because Salman Khan played him, here is more spoof-proof in the sequel of how Salman adopts, embraces and assimilates the characters he plays until one can't tell the star apart from the character.

This is not to say Salman is a method actor. God forbid! He's just the opposite. Chulbul Pandey, if ever such a khaki-clad law-enforcer ever, would want to be as chirpy and obnoxious as Chulbul Pandey.

So what does Chulbul do in "Dabangg 2" that he didn't do in "Dabangg"? Nothing, and everything. There's more of everything in the sequel and hence a sense of deja vu.

The fights which begin, end and bolster the plot, are done with that irrepressible mix of guffaws and grunts that Salman patented in Prabhu Deva's "Wanted". Indeed it wouldn't be wrong to say that Prabhu Deva was the father of Chulbul Pandey, in a manner of speaking.

Here of course in "Dabangg 2" Vinod Khanna is back as Chulbul's father. The scenes between Salman and his screen-dad are written with a delicious mix of irreverence and affection. There is a hilarious encounter on the rooftop of their Kanpur home where son asks his sleepy, annoyed father about the deceased mother (Dimple Kapadia, a mere photo on the wall in the sequel).

And then Salman leaves in a huff saying, "Mom was right. You're no fun to sleep with. I am better off sleeping with my wife."

Ahem. Save the blushes for a rainy day. Salman's Chulbul gives us no time get bothered with niceties. Chulbul simply sweeps us along into a tidal wave of wackily written and executed action sequences undercut by a sharp sense of self-deprecating humour.

The storytelling is breathless. The characters can't really keep pace with the breakneck storytelling. They are underveloped and largely kept in the shadows to accentuate the hero's larger-than-life (though blessedly never larger-than-laughs) persona.

Sonakshi Sinha, of course, enjoys playing the seductress in the shadows. In film after film, she plays the dutiful beloved soul-mate to the macho-hero. And really, her sartorial styling and the designer sarees and backless blouses in a film that pays a lot of attention to mofussil modes is way-way-way over the top. It's hard to see her expressions beyond the eyeshadows.

That reminds me...Sonakshi shares the shadows with Arbaaz Khan who as Chulbul Pandey's brother is delightful daft and goofy.

The villains have a coherent voice (never mind their livid screaming) and more space to develop as characters. The plot goes into spasms of explanation as to why one of the villains Niktin Dheer needed to take off his shirt in the climax .Really, Salman's shirtless act needs no accompaniment.

Prakash Raj does his usual snarling sneering arch-villain act, no surprises here. Deepak Dobriyal who gets to die in a rather gruesome way in the irate Chulbul's hands, is sharp and cutting in his brief role. Some of Salman's subordinates in the police station are also engaging.

But make no mistake. This film belongs to Chulbul alias Salman from the first frame to the last. Salman goes through the motions without any punctuation except a string of exclamations. While the other characters remain dutifully tenuous, Chulbul's comic-book valour is highlighted unapologetically.

"Dabangg 2" takes off effortlessly from the first frame creating a wackier, wilder, wittier saga than "Dabangg" woven around Chulbul Pandey's agile, anarchic antics.

Though the plot is written in half-hearted measures leaving many episodes including the climax looking incomplete, the film is loads of lowbrow fun with some peppy songs by Sajid-Wajid which are filmed with an earthy gusto. Aseem Mishra's camera looks at life in "Kanpur" through wide-eyed lenses that stare unabashedly at the characters's quirks.

And now for the ek crore ka sawaal. Does Kareena Kapoor's item song "Fevicol" match up to Malaika Arora's "Munni badnaam" in the first "Dabangg"?

Redundant question. It's like asking, does "Dabangg 2" measure up to "Dabangg"?
