Political leaders coming under the Nexus scanner is nothing new. In a latest incident, TRS MLA Konda Surekha was criticized by national media for her comments on school-going girls' dress code. Surekha made her comments on a positive note during a debate on sexual harassment on women.

In her comments, Surekha has called for a strict dress code for school-going girls, especially for girls studying in class 10. The Warangal East constituency MLA has said that school uniforms, mostly short dresses, needed to be replaced with salwar kameez in order to curb sexual harassment.

"Short dresses should be replaced with salwar kameez as school uniform because it covers the entire body and also upkeeps modesty," said Surekha.
