In a deeply upsetting incident, bodies of two children named Ashok (8) and Madhu (12) who died of thirst and her mother who fell unconscious along with them were recovered in a forest area near Muddaram village of Chennur mandal in Adilabad district, Telangana on Sunday night.

Both the children and their mother were on their way to Muddaram village from Lingampally to attend a marriage. The tragedy struck while they were walking through the forest under intense heat and thirst. The mother frantically ran around in search of water to save her children, but she too had collapsed due to a sun stroke.

A nearby shepherd noticed their bodies and immediately alerted the police. Cops admitted the mother to a local hospital and her condition is said to be critical. The heat wave across Telangana has been quite intense in 2016 with temperature levels ranging between 42 and 45 degrees Celsius. So far, at least 150 people were killed due to excess heat.
