For quite some time, there have been reports that popular television news channel TV9 is up for sale and My Home Group chairman J Rameshwar Rao has almost clinched the deal for an undisclosed but huge money.
The reports also said channel CEO Ravi Prakash himself is learnt to have brokered the deal between channel promoter Srini Raju and Rameshwar Rao.
However, on Tuesday, Ravi Prakash officially denied the reports. Speaking to a media representative, he said they were just rumours and he was only laughing at them. He went on to say that if one were go to by media reports, TV9 was sold 101 times in the past.
“There is absolutely no deal with My Home Group on the sale of the channel,” he said.
He, however, did not specifically deny the reports that there were attempts to sell the channel in the past to big players, if not My Home Group.
The names of Times of India group and Sony Network. However, none of these details materialised due to high valuation of the TV9 channels.
Interestingly, Ravi Prakash made one categorical denial on the reports that he would soon join hands with TDP leader Nara Lokesh to set up another TV Channel. He clarified that he would never join hands with politician in his life time while adding it is unethical to do so.
