Horror thrillers are the need of the hour in Tollywood. Every week, you see at least one film in this genre hit the screens. Mostly, it is low budget films who attempt this genre more often.

But off late, things have changed drastically as star heroines have chosen this genre and are set to enthral everyone. Some hardcore commercial heroines like Trisha, Tamannah and Regina will be seen in horror dramas for their upcoming films.

Trisha will be seen as Nayaki where as Tamannah and Regina will be seen in two different untitled horror thrillers which are currently on floors. These actresses feel that there is a huge scope for them to perform in these flicks and can reinvent themselves big time.

With the changing times and new stories being applauded, looks like star heroines have made the right move to cash in on this trend.

Kajal, one of the leading actresses down south, has two of the biggest films of her career releasing within a span of one month. While her next film Sardaar Gabbar Singh is slated for its release on April 8, the high budget family entertainer Brahmotsavam will hit the screens in May.

Incidentally, Kajal will be seen in two totally contrasting roles in both these films. While she plays a graceful princess in Sardaar, Kajal will turn trendy and chic for Brahmotsavam, in which she is playing an NRI girl from Australia.

No doubt that Kajal’s fans will have a treat watching her in two varied roles this summer.

Relishing the accolades that are pouring in for bagging the prestigious national award for his last directorial, Kanche, passionate director Krish is currently giving the finishing touches to his script for Nandamuri Balakrishna’s most awaited 100th film.

Tentatively titled Yodhudu, this film is expected to be launched on the occasion of Ugadi on April 8 in Amaravati. While everyone is curious about the cast and crew members of this project, Krish vaguely revealed the music composer for the film.

Hotshot music composer Devi Sri Prasad took to Twitter to congratulate Krish on Kanche’s national award. In his reply, Krish said, “thank you so much Devi… Can’t wait to work with you soon where we both together bag the awards n rewards ;)” Well, Krish’s tweet clearly suggests that the two talented minds will jam together for Balayya’s 100th.

Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President Dr. N. Raghuveera Reddy has accused the Telugu Desam Party Government and main opposition YSR Congress Party of failing to get Special Status for the State.

Speaking to media persons on Thursday, Raghuveera Reddy said while the TDP Government failed to make effective representation with the Centre on Special Status issue, the YSRCP has failed to raise the issue in a proper manner. He alleged that the BJP-led NDA Government was cheating the people of Andhra Pradesh.

The APCC chief also alleged that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has failed to fulfill the poll promises which include providing one job to every household in the State. He said thousands of people have lost their jobs since T

Supreme hero Sai Dharam Tej's 'Supreme' is one of the most promising films of this summer. The movie's audio release date has reportedly been confirmed as April 14 and the venue will be Shilpakala Vedika of Hyderabad. Apart from the film's cast and crew a few mega heroes are expected to attend to the audio event as guests and the details are yet to be known. 

'Supreme' will be releasing in the month of May. Rashi Khanna has played romantic interest of Sai Dharam Tej in the movie. Ravi Kishan and Sai Kumar will be seen in other crucial roles of the film. 

Anil Ravipudi, who is riding high on the super hit result of 'Pataas', has directed this movie. Dil Raju has produced the movie on Sri Venkateswara Creations. Sai Karthik has composed the music of the movie. Sai Dharam Tej's latest offing 'Subramanyam for Sale' got a decent hit status at the box office. 'Supreme' is expected to be one of the big hits of this summer.

Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao has claimed that the Mission Kakatiya programme has been gaining recognition at the global level.

Speaking after launching the second phase of works under the Mission Kakatiya in Warangal on Thursday, Harish Rao said that the programme and concept was being received well by all sections across the globe. He said that the Mission Kakatiya works were giving good results and they have helped in improving the ground water tables. He informed that under the second phase 824 tanks and lakes in Warangal district would be restored at a cost of Rs. 313 crore. He said Warangal was on top in executing Mission Kakatiya works in the first phase. He hoped that the district would maintain its lead in the second phase.

Harish Rao said that the Irrigation Department would conduct week-long events on Mission Kakatiya in the month of April. He said on the advise of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, the restoration of lakes in urban areas was being taken up.

The original essence in ‘Kahaani’ film starring Vidya Balan wasn’t completely re-produced by director Sekhar Kammula when he dealt the same as ‘Anamika’ with Nayanathara as heroine. This time, ‘Kahaani 2’ is already lying on sets in Sujay Ghosh direction with Vidya Balan again taking up central character. This sequel starts off exactly from same point where ‘Kahaani’ has ended.

Taking the credentials of ‘Kahaani’ being a super hit, makers aren’t compromising this time to go either for a remake or release the dubbed version to ‘Kahaani 2.’ According to reports from Bollywood circles, Viacom 18 is planning for a Telugu and Tamil version of ‘Kahaani’ to be shot in parallel with Hindi version. Release will also be commenced in parallel.

The most prestigious project, chiranjeevi 150^th film is going to be directed by V.V Vinayak and produced by Ram Charan and Lyca Productions. Actress Nayantara has been roped for this Mega project. Currently, Nayan is charging around 3 crores for a movie. But Nayantara charged 4 crores for Bikini in this project as it is very much hyped movie and makers said of Bikini scene in the movie. Nayan accepted including Bikini scene for 4 crores. But as per latest news Nayantara said no to Bikini scene in the movie.

Last night, when Aishwarya Rai Bachchan attended the L’Oreal Paris Women Of Worth awards, she was questioned about her father-in-law’s National Award win.

“It is not the first time (he is winning the national award). He deserved it. We are very very proud that Paa (Amitabh Bachchan) won the national award yet again for a performance he deserved,” Aishwarya Rai told reporters. “I feel every performance of him deserves to be celebrated by the audience and members of the media,” she added.

She further thanked all the fans for their congratulatory messages, “I thank you for all the love. Thank you for all the congratulatory messages. We love Paa and god bless him for entertaining us.”

As many as 14 small-budget films are being released this Friday, April 1. Film analysts say that the simultaneous release of 14 films on the same day is a new record in Tollywood.

Ram Gopal Varma directorial ‘Attack’ starring Manchu Manoj, Jagapathi Babu, Prakashraj and Vadde Naveen, is among the Friday’s releases.

The list of films that will hit the silver screen on April 1 also include ‘Pidugu’, ‘7 to 4’, ‘Appudala Ippudila’, ‘Aame Evaru’, ‘Bharathanna’, ‘O Malli’, ‘Rahadari’, ’24 Hours’, ‘Dhanadhan’, etc including several dubbed films like ‘Rajadi Raja’ starring Sharvanand ans Nithya Menon,’ Nannu vadili Neevu Polevule’, ‘Mass’ featuring Dhanush and Kajal.

It will be interesting to see which of these 14 films become successful.

K Raghavendra Rao's movies like 'Annmayya' deserve to win national awards. Undoubtedly,injustice was done to the films of all these directors. King Khan  Shah Rukh Khan today began shooting with actress Sunny Leone for an item song for his coming film ‘Raees‘.

Shah Rukh, 50, is shaking a leg with Sunny in a reprise version of the 1980 chartbuster ‘Laila O Laila’ from the film ‘Qurbaani’. The original track featured Feroz Khan and Zeenat Amaan.

A special set has been created here at Mehboob studio.”It’s a dance track, an item number which is part of the film and not an end-credit song. The set is that of an old retro bar. The situation is that it is a bar where they are selling alcohol in the pretext of selling cold drinks. That is where Sunny is dancing,” a source from the set told PTI.

Directed by Rahul Dholakia, ‘Raees’ is set in 1980s Gujarat. It tells the story of bootlegger Raees Khan (Shah Rukh) whose business is challenged and eventually thwarted by a police officer played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

“The song will be shot for four days. Right now Shah Rukh’s entry shot will be filmed. There are 50 junior artists and 20 dancers,” the source said.

Recently, Leone’s face-off with a journalist on a talk show won her lot of praises. Everyone from Anushka Sharma to Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt took a stand for the actress. Superstar Aamir Khan expressed his desire to work with her.

This will be the first time Leone will be sharing the screen space with a superstar, after her cameo in Akshay  Kumar’s ‘Singh is Bliing’ last year.

Leone, 34, has previously shot for items songs in films like ‘Hate Story 2’ (‘Pink Lips) and ‘Shootout at Wadala’ (‘Laila’).

Actor Navadeep who has been vehemently refuting charges that he had organized a rave party in his farmhouse, now has another celeb vouching for him. Actor Brahmaji had tweeted on Saturday morning that the news about the ‘rave party’ was baseless as he was present there along with his family.

Reports were being sighted since Friday night that the police had raided a farm house in Mominpet mandal of Rangareddy district and busted a rave party there in addition to seized liquor and arresting the farmhouse manager on Friday night.

Navadeep and his friends were said to absconding since then. However on Saturday, Navdeep got on his twitter account and refuted these allegations saying that it was only a dinner occasion with family and friends.

A little while later, actor Brahmaji came to his rescue by dismissing the allegations that it was a rave party and confirming that he was present there along with his family. It was a farmhouse party with kids and families, he said.

One of the most eagerly awaited Movie of this summer, Mahesh Babu’s Brahmotsavam, is fast nearing the completion of its shooting part. The film is currently in the last leg of its production and the entire shooting will be wrapped up in April.

As per the latest update, Brahmotsavam’s audio album is expected to be unveiled on the 24th of April in the temple town, Tirupati. The audio launch event will be a complete traditional affair. Apparently, Mickey J Meyer has scored some really cool melodies in his trademark style.

Being made as a Telugu-Tamil bilingual, Brahmotsavam will hit the screens in the third week of May, although an official announcement is awaited in this regard. Sreekanth Addala is helming this high budget family entertainer and PVP Cinema is producing it. Kajal Agarwal , Samantha and Pranitha are the film’s leading ladies.

Mega Power Star Ram Charan celebrates his birthday today in Bengaluru with his family members. On this occasion, Ram Charan will be unveiling the Chiranjeevi Blood Bank (CBB) Android App in the Garden City.

The CBB app lets the interested blood donors register themselves on the app and then streamlines the data by connecting the donors’ information with hospitals and blood banks across the country. Chiru instituted the blood bank with a motive to see no one’s death due to unavailability of blood, and looks like his dream has just found a firm platform with this app.

Actor Prabhas is overwhelmed with the National Film Award honours for S.S. Rajamouli's magnum opus "Baahubali: The Beginning".

The film bagged two honours including Best Feature Film at the 63rd National Awards, which were announced in New Delhi on Monday.

"It is overwhelming that 'Baahubali' has been recognised as the Best Film at the National Awards," Prabhas said in a statement.

"Playing the role of Baahubali was one of the most special things of my career. I'm very thankful to Rajamouli sir to have the faith in me to play such an important part of the film," he said.

"Baahubali", which raked in over Rs. 600 crore via its theatrical release, is the story of two brothers warring for the ownership of a kingdom.

Nanditha Raj doesn't want to be known as an actress for low-budgeted movies. Nor does she want to stick up with just young or upcoming heroes as she has aspirations to become top-rung heroine.

“Every heroine would definitely want to be seen with top heroes. I am no different,” she revealed while interacting with the media.

After the super duper success of “Prema Katha Chitram” in which she had acted with Sudheer Babu, offers flooded her but she continued doing films with younger heroes like Sumanth Ashwin and Nikhil Siddharth.

She had hoped that Nikhil’s ‘Sankarabharanam’ would bring her big stardom but the film bombed like anything. “I am totally disappointed by the result of Sankarabharanam as I had many hopes on it.  

Nanditha Raj also agrees that she wouldn’t mind indulging in a bit of skin show as long as the filmmakers are in limits in shown her beauty.

Following the conducting of over 250 blood camps across India and several locations overseas, Ram Charan thanked the Mega fans and described them as real gods.

‘I didn’t imagine that the camps will be held on such a grand scale on my birthday.  Real  gods are Mega fans.  In the last two decades, they have saved about 15 lakh lives.  For about 1,75,000 people, Chiranjeevi Blood Bank has supplied blood for free in times of emergency.  This is because of the service oriented attitude of Mega fans,’ Ram Charan said in his address to fans online.

Charan was in Bengaluru where he celebrated his birthday with his family members, besides taking part in the sangeet ahead of Srija’s wedding.
